Watch Cassius’ Romantic, Interactive Video for ‘The Missing’

Cassius’s new clip for « The Missing » appears to draw inspiration from one of the song’s key lines. « I’m not the type to go to extremes, » Ryan Tedder sings over a bubbly disco groove. « You and me can rewrite the scene. »

Cassius hand this power to viewers, who can change the visual scenario on a whim: clicking on an actor causes him or her to be replaced with a new face. While people rotate in and out of the video, the focus of the clip remains the same – couples kissing in various urban locations. We Are From LA directed the visual, available to view on the band’s website.

« The Missing » will appear on Ibifornia, Cassius’ first full-length since 2006. (In 2008, the French duo compiled Cassiusplay for Nike.) In addition to Tedder, Cat Power, the Beastie Boys’ Mike D, and Pharrell Williams all serve as guests on the album.

Though Ibifornia was originally slated for a June 24th release, the album has now been pushed back to August 26th.
