Few films in recent memory have featured as aggressive a marketing campaign as Fast 8, the eighth film in the Fast and Furious franchise. There have been a number of production videos already released from the film’s shooting, many of which distinctly detail the stunts that will go into F. Gary Gray‘s sequel to James Wan‘s titanic Furious 7. These videos have also heavily featured the vast amount of shooting locations that the production has been visiting, including Cuba and Iceland.

A stunt coordinator in the video refers to the stunt as the “Zombie Cars” stunt, and it involves a few dozen cars being set to cascade down from a three-story-up parking garage onto an empty city street. For fans of big car crashes (*raises hand*), the sequence looks like it could come out as a great amount of fun, but there’s no real sense as to how this stunt will fit into the chaotic spirit of Fast 8.

Stunts like this are what makes these movies, and its fun to see the team that puts this nonsense together with such stunning technical precision. If anything, I hope the film’s home-video package shows more of their work and a deeper sense of how big events like this come together before we see it on the big screen. From what we have seen in regard to these stunts though, Fast 8 will be just as much a thrill ride as Furious 7, which was one of the most purely fun entries in the Fast and Furious franchise, and if things come together under Gray’s direction, Fast 8 could turn out to be the very strongest film in this series thus far.

Here’s the latest behind-the-scenes video for Fast 8:
