Video: Ronseal apologises for not doing exactly what it says on the ‘tin’

An apology has been issued from one of our most trusted brands for not doing the job they have advertised on ALL of their products.

Ronseal has been a household name for the last 21 years, and it’s slogan – « does exactly what it says on the tin » – has been one of the most comforting phrases for anybody who has ever needed to varnish their shed.*

But now, things have gotten a little tough for Ronseal and have been forced to issue an apology to it’s customers.

The paint company have issued this apology using their YouTube channel with the following message.

« Our world famous strapline ‘does exactly what it says on the tin’, has recently been scrutinised across social networks, because our products don’t always come in a ‘tin’.

« So we’ve decided to change it. Here’s an apology from our Marketing Director, on behalf of everyone at Ronseal. »

« We’ve let you down… » says Marketing Director, Martin Jones.

« So now it’s time we changed our famous strapline.

« Ronseal Fencelife: Now does exactly what it says on the rotund 203.48mm x 189.12mm vacuum moulded white polypropylene copolymer 5 litre labelled bucket«

Somehow, we don’t see this catching on!

Yes, we do get that this is a spoof, but there is an air of reality about it.
