Tremor Video Enters into New Zealand to tap the Ready-for-Growth Market

Tremor Video, a software provider for efficient video ads, has announced an expansion into New Zealand. This expansion follows the company’s expansion into the region of Asia-Pacific last year after acquiring TVN, an Australia-based TV channel.

The high consumption of video surpasses ad expenditures in New Zealand, making it a prospective market for high growth. Reports from last year suggest that 25% of the people in New Zealand watch online videos every week. The number of people using smartphones and tablets has also doubled in comparison to the past year.

Josh Ismin, Vice President (VP), Tremor Video and TVN Co-Founder, said in a release, “New Zealand broadcasters and publishers have been hugely underserviced by ad-tech companies focused on markets like Australia, South East Asia, and Japan,” said Josh Ismin, Vice President. “We saw this pronounced gap and decided the time is right to offer our fully server-side SSP. I look forward to leveraging our experience and momentum from recent success in Australia and greater APAC to bolster sell-side growth across the Tasman.”

Ismin has relocated to New Zealand to oversee Tremor Video’s launch, and he will continue to hold the office of the regional VP. In addition to that, Yael Milbank will be the General Manager responsible for creating a team and scaling the demand side of the operations.

$15 million repurchase for Tremor Video

In March this year, Tremor Video announced that its share repurchase program has been approved by the company’s Board of Directors. This authorizes Tremor Video to buy its common stock worth $15 million over a period of the next 18 months starting from  March 25, 2016.

Tremor Video partners with Integral Ad Science

Prior to repurchase, Tremor Video announced a partnership with Integral Ad Science in a quest to offer optimized video viewability in real time. The buying platform of Tremor Video becomes the first one to integrate the Quality Engine for Video of Integral to optimize viewability in real time on the basis of VPAID-to-VPAID. The partnership also offers Bid Expert for Video through the buyer platform along with the reporting capabilities of Integral Ad Science Trader’s Edge within the dashboard of Tremor Video.

Tremor Video gets Andy Morley onboard

Earlier last month, Tremor Video announced the appointment of Andy Morley as its Managing Director to develop new partnership and harness the existing relationships with agencies. Morley is responsible for ensuring the growth in adoption of the seller and buyer platforms of Tremor Video across UK and EMEA.
