Radiohead promotion history for LP9

Since OK Computer, Radiohead’s camp has heavily used marketing and promotion not only to build hype, but to also extend their aesthetic in creative ways. The release for LP9 is shaping up to continue this tradition. Rather than posting a bunch of separate news stories, we will collect them all here, posted in chronological order.

4/30: UK fans begin receiving “Burn the Witch” leaflets.

5/2: Radiohead have been slowly deleting tweets and posts from their Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ pages. This includes turning their profile pictures into blank/white images and, according to Reddit users, reducing the opacity of their official website every 10 minutes until it was completely white.

5/3 (12 AM): Radiohead post an animated bird, which some fans believe is a reference to “Dawn Chorus.”
