Legends of Tomorrow is similar, but so much better than The Flash (VIDEO)

For The Vampire Diaries and The Originals fans, this means both Julie Plec shows will now air on Fridays starting Jan. 29. With that said, let’s talk Legends of Tomorrow. Seeing as the series hails from Arrow and The Flash cocreators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and fellow Arrow cocreator Marc Guggenheim, there’s no doubt their latest superhero creation will be outstanding.

This time around, and based on the trailer, it seems they’ve outdone themselves. I’ve seen some pretty epic teasers, but this one is beyond spectacular. Did anyone else get chills watching it? Seeing as Legends of Tomorrow comes from the same universe as Arrow and The Flash, there are bound to be similarities. However, there are many differences with this particular series, proving that it’s one to beat.

Now, this might be a bold claim, but it might even be better than both Arrow and The Flash. I don’t know if that’s even a possibility, and I could easily change my tune once it airs, but right now Legends of Tomorrow has amazing potential and is giving the other two CW series a run for their money.

With that said, here are a few reasons why Legends of Tomorrow is even better than what Oliver Queen and Barry Allen are bringing to the table. Don’t get me wrong; I still love both of their shows, but there’s just something special about this latest heroic series.

1. Time travel is even better

The Flash and Barry Allen have messed with time travel before, but this time it’s different, bigger and so much better. There is an actual time machine transporting the characters to different decades. Who doesn’t want to see this group of heroes sport clothing from the ’70s? Yeah, it happens.

2. The group of heroes is on point

The Atom. White Canary. Firestorm. Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Heat Wave and Captain Cold. Could there be a more badass group of eight superheroes? The answer is no. Of course, if you add The Green Arrow and The Flash to the mix, it’d be pretty amazing. However, without those two, this group can hold its own.

3. There is an immortal villain

Neither The Flash nor Arrow have dealt with an immortal villain (yet), so to make the big bad of the series someone who can’t be killed, well, it’ll be interesting to see how long he remains the main villain and what it takes to destroy him.

4. Fate will be toyed with

As Sara Lance says in the trailer, « If we have the power to change the world, don’t you think we have the power to change our own fate? » Like fans saw during Heroes and Heroes Reborn, toying with time can be dangerous. You never want to step on a butterfly, per Hiro Nakamura. Even Rip Hunter can be heard saying, « If only you had listened to me about the dangers of upsetting the timeline. » It seems like each character’s fate could potentially change, making it even more thrilling.

5. The duos and partnerships are epic

In similar fashion to the group of heroes as a whole, the duos are everything every superhero and comic book fan could ever want. I mean, there’s Hawkman and Hawkgirl, Captain Cold and Heat Wave, and Dr. Martin Stein and Jefferson Jackson. I love a strong-willed partnership that can change the world.

6. Rip Hunter, need I say more?

Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter is going to be one of the best things that’s ever happened to The CW.

Now, watch the trailer and see you if agree with me or not.

Legends of Tomorrow premieres Thursday, Jan. 21 at 8/7c on The CW.
