Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is debuting a new in-flight safety video featuring sight gags from Internet memes.
The video features characters like the keyboard cat and screaming goat and will begin airing on flights May 25. The company filmed for 20 hours on an Airbus A330-200 in a hangar at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Since 2012, Delta’s marketing department has created a series of humorous takes on the typically dull in-flight safety video. The videos star real Delta employees.
“These memes and cameos tap into the zeitgeist as the latest way of capturing our customers’ attention for our important safety presentation,” said Delta’s director of marketing Mauricio Parise in a written statement.
