‘Building Rome’ video wins bronze Telly award

CLINTON – MPW Marketing has been chosen as a winner in the 37th annual Telly Awards for a piece titled “Building Rome.” MPW Marketing was chosen as a Bronze Telly winner out of a pool of more than 13,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.

It can be seen on the front page of the city’s website at romenewyork.com on the front page or at www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJVz9tp1HQg.

The purpose of the “Building Rome” video project contracted by the city was to strengthen community pride while illustrating to viewers why they should consider moving to Rome. The team at MPW Marketing, led by Creative Director Geoff Storm, focused on reflecting the positive momentum that has been happening in Rome, while showcasing the amenities that make the city an ideal place to live and raise a family.

The awards were founded in 1979 to honor outstanding local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online videos, commercials and films.

The judging panel for the Telly Awards is comprised of more than 500 industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of the Silver Telly Council.

This group evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other; rather they are judged against a high standard of merit.

Less than 10 percent of entries are chosen as Silver Telly winners, and approximately one quarter of entries are chosen to win the Bronze Telly.

While Storm is proud that the “Building Rome” project has been honored with a Bronze Telly, he is equally pleased with the reception the video has received. “It’s always great to be recognized for doing good work, and so I am quite honored that the Building Rome video won such a prestigious award. But just as special to me is the overwhelmingly positive feedback I’ve received from viewers – I’ve even had people tell me the video made them cry. That means more than any award ever could.”
